MainStreet DeLand’s annual Florida Wildflower & Garden Festival gets underway at 9 a.m. March 23 with unique vendors, children’s activities, and presentations and demonstrations by wildflower and gardening experts.
Vendors lining downtown’s West Indiana Avenue will offer garden- and nature-related items, including wildflower seeds, plants, honey, yard art and planters, photos and books.
Gardening and wildflower-related presentations will be featured from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Athens Theater, 124 N. Florida Ave., adjoining West Indiana Avenue and in Chess Park.
A free shuttle with run throughout the day between the Wildflower & Garden Festival and the DeLand Outdoor Art Festival at nearby Earl Brown Park.
Festival sponsors and partners include the City of DeLand, UF-IFAS, Florida Wildflower Foundation and the State Wildflower license plate, DeLand Outdoor Art Festival, Florida Wildflowers Seed & Plant Growers Association, West Volusia Beacon, Athens Theatre, Quality Green Specialists and Museum of Art-DeLand.
