Join the Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) team on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the second Florida Farmers Market Crop-Up. Each year, the FAB team hosts a free event that gathers Florida farmers-market managers, direct-to-consumer outlet operators, and food-access professionals who all engage, inspire and network.
All levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to attend this one-day professional-development and networking opportunity.
This year’s Crop-Up will be in Lakeland, during National Farmers Market Week, on Aug. 7 at Haus 820. This renovated historic warehouse is at 820 N. Massachusetts Ave.
The Fresh Access Bucks program, coordinated by Florida Organic Growers (FOG), is a statewide nutrition incentive program designed to encourage Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) recipients to redeem their benefits at farmers markets, in order to buy fresh, healthful produce directly from farmers.
