Woodstock Revisited – Celebrating the 50th Anniversary

The High Springs Lions Club is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock — with Woodstock Revisited — from Friday, August 16, to Sunday, August 18, 2019.

The times are: Friday, 7pm to 11pm; Saturday, 11am to 11pm; and Sunday, 11am to 7pm, at the High Springs Lions Club, 26900 US 27, High Springs, Florida 32643.

The summer heats up with Woodstock Revisited, a 50th Anniversary remembrance of the original 1969 Woodstock music festival beginning Friday, August 16th from 7pm to 11pm and continuing on Saturday, August 17th from 11am to 11pm and Sunday, August 18th from 11am to 7pm at the High Springs Lions Club, 26900 US-27, High Springs, Florida 32643. The event features regional touring and local favorite artists, a Woodstock memorabilia exhibit and food, drink and other vendors. This event is being produced by the High Springs Lions Club in cooperation with the US Military Vets Motorcycle Club Alachua County and will be held rain or shine. No coolers, pets allowed.

Festival host band, the Jesse Smith Project with special guest, Ric Holly. Throughout the weekend, invited guest bands include Georgia Power with Josh Kirkland, Hannah Harber and the Lionhearts, Public Sounds Collective, Don David Band, Quartermoon, Little Bit More, Crooked Counsel, Steel Tumbleweed and In the Moment, as well as solo performers Ellen Bukstel. Brad Burns, Chris Seepersaud, and Jim Wegman.

Each evening, these great performances will culminate in the Woodstock Family Jam featuring appearances by many of the weekend’s talent.

Woodstock Revisited musical director Jesse Smith says, “This will be a weekend revival paying homage to the music of the iconic Woodstock Festival of 1969.  Local and regional acts will perform music of the original lineup as well as bringing their own inspirations to the table, showcasing the vast influence of music from the 1960s.”

The club’s outdoor festival area will include shade and misters to keep things cool while the music heats up. Nearby hotels and camping are available for a separate charge and information can be found on Facebook and Eventbrite pages.
