This is the season for farmers markets, so Florida Food & Farm is periodically highlighting a few of the markets that either have opened or soon will.
The Corey Avenue Sunday Market supports local vendors who sell fresh produce, plants, prepared foods for taking home or enjoying on-site, handmade arts and crafts, eco-friendly and fair-trade products, and a host of other items. Live entertainment is also on the menu.
The location of this market, which opened Oct. 1, provides distinct advantages. For example, nearby shops, boutiques and galleries — as well as restaurants featuring breakfast and/or lunch and brunch — are open and within easy walking distance.
This market, which opened in 2007, features 50 to 80 vendors and caters to the greater St. Petersburg Beach area. Tourists and residents alike visit each Sunday.
