This is the season for farmers markets, so Florida Food & Farm is periodically highlighting a few of the markets that either have opened or soon will.
Marco Island, the largest of Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands, is on the Gulf of Mexico in Southwest Florida. Less than 20 miles south of Naples, the island boasts white sand beaches and a casual lifestyle.
On Wednesdays, beginning Nov. 15 and running through April 18, 2018, the island will feature something else: the Marco Island Farmers Market. Located at Veterans Community Park, 901 Park Ave., the market runs from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Vendors (which are, of course, subject to change) offer a variety of products, including orchids, airplants and bromeliads; fresh guacamole; stained glass; pottery; fresh produce and seafood; jewelry; handcrafted cards with a “local” theme; prepared foods, including baked goods; and plenty more.
