Are you looking for a new dining experience that’s outside your normal routine? Then look no further than 13 American Table, where Justin Himmelbaum and Jake Héber of Mucho Gusto have launched their series of pop-up dinners.
These dinners, taking place every other Monday, will give this dynamic duo a chance to experiment in the kitchen — Héber with the food, Himmelbaum with the beverages — and to create mouth-watering dishes that are sure to impress.
While the menu will be unique to each individual event, you can expect a modern take on classics. Although we can’t tell you what you’ll be enjoying at the next dinner, we can tell you to be ready for some flavor explosions in your mouth (at least that’s what we experienced when we were invited in for a preview dinner).
Think Haricots Verts with butternut vichyssoise, hazelnuts and baby kale; Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Parmegiano-Reggiano and carrot-top pesto; Turkey Confit with vegan demi, smothered potatoes, pickled shallots and herb oil; and more — definitely not your typical night in.
“These dinners are just as much about the social aspect as they are the food and drink,” says 13 American Table owner Alberto Aletto. “We want these dinners to bring together a community of new friends and acquaintances.”
From our experience, they’re heading in the right direction.
You can think of Mucho Gusto as your modern-day supper club, where you’ll enjoy creative dishes (experimentation is highly encouraged) and boozy drinks, while gathering with an eclectic group of food enthusiasts — because as Julia Child once said, “People who like to eat are always the best people.”
Mucho Gusto Dinners
The Mucho Gusto pop-up dinners will kick off on Monday, Dec. 5, at 13 American Table (451 E. Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton) starting at 7:30 p.m. Guests can expect a five- to seven-course dinner with beverage pairings.
The cost for these dinners will vary, depending on what’s being served. But tickets for the Dec. 5 dinner are $75/person.
