Join the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences’ Honey Bee Lab at the 2019 South Florida Bee College for one or two days of all things honey-bees. Those new to beekeeping can follow the beginner track, while more experienced beekeepers can participate in hands-on training in the apiary, classes on honey-bee research, and other advanced topics in beekeeping.
The Bee College starts on Friday, March 8, at 8:30 a.m. and runs through Saturday, March 9, at 4:30 p.m. at Florida Atlantic University’s Davie campus, 3200 College Ave.

Additionally, a discount (10 percent off) is available for two-day tickets to active-duty military members; retired veterans; Florida State Beekeepers Association members; active members of the Master Beekeeper, Master Gardener and/or Master Naturalist Programs; UF/IFAS county extension faculty; and anyone under 18 years.
Late registrations (after March 1, 2018) will incur additional fees and cannot be discounted.
Bee clubs and associations can purchase a two-day ticket at a discounted rate ($140) to raffle off to clubs members. Only one discounted ticket is allowed per club. Follow the steps below:
- As a club, donate $140 to Bee College on Eventbrite.
- Send an email to [email protected] to request a coupon code for a free ticket.
- Hold your raffle and give your club’s coupon code to the winner.
- The winner registers on Eventbrite, by entering the coupon code and choosing “Free Two Day Registration”.
Bee College Honey Show
All Bee College participants are encouraged to participate in the 2018 Bee College Honey Show. Entry is free. This is an opportunity to have your honey, candles, mead, bee-themed art and more critiqued by certified judges. This is a great way to learn how to improve the hive products that you produce. Jr. Bee College
Kids ages 6-12 may be signed up for the full day Jr. Bee College program on Saturday March 9th. Only kids with a parent/guardian attending Bee College may participate.
Light refreshments will be available for attendees at the breaks throughout the day.
Lunch each day will be provided.
Refund requests will be honored in full if submitted prior to Feb. 16. No refunds on or after Feb. 16.
Registration will run from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. both days. Doors to the building will not open prior to 7:30 a.m.
Bee veils and other protective equipment will be provided for all in-hive courses; however, you are welcome to bring personal veils, suits etc. if you prefer.
