Located inside the W Fort Lauderdale, this modern steakhouse concept is well-known for their dry-aged steaks, locally caught seafood and their stellar wine list, but if you love your sweets, you’ll find their desserts just as impressive.
Now, thanks to Executive Pastry Chef Sarah Magoon, you can now enjoy some of her favorite flavors in your own kitchen. While Chef’s recipe for Honey Recipe Syrup – our latest feature in our #30daysofhoney roundup – can be added to your favorite food for that extra touch of sweetness, she recommends serving it over grilled fruit and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Grilled Fruit with Honey Rum Syrup
Fruit of choice, halved (Chef Sarah recommends peaches, nectarines, apricots or pineapple)
¼ cup honey
2 tablespoons dark rum
2 scoops ice cream (optional)
Melt honey in the microwave for 10 seconds.
While honey is hot, stir in dark rum.
Brush the fruit with the Honey Rum Syrup and place flesh side down on hot grill. Gently sear just until the fruit has visible grill marks.
If desired, serve with favorite ice cream.
Drizzle any remaining Honey Rum Syrup and a squeeze of lime onto the finished dish.
